Niagara SPCA has teamed up with Just Pizza in Amherst to help get shelter dogs adopted! Customers who order a pizza will find an adoptable friend on the front of their box and hopefully inspire customers to share the shelter dog’s photo with their friends or even adopt themselves.
We hope our customers enjoy seeing the dog’s adorable faces as much as we do and that it helps these beautiful animals find the loving homes they deserve,” said Mary Alloy, owner of Just Pizza in Amherst.
David Kass from New York City has taken over abandoned dirt beds on sidewalks after being fed up with all the garbage that ended up in the beds and nobody doing anything about it.
Since 2017, he put in his own time and money, buying plants in Union Square and lugging heavy buckets of water around several days a week.
Now he has 16 gardens he cares for and each micro garden costs around $125.
Kass said he created a GoFundMe page and has received some donations that will go toward new metal fencing. One building now pays for the bed in front of its location and another company is contributing to theirs.
