Tonight we had a power outage at about 6pm and were told that it would be restored at around 10:00 pm. Unfortunately, we do not have a back up on our sump pump and it was rather stressful for us to deal with but we managed. We hadn’t had dinner yet but threw some hot dogs on the bbq. I spoke with my neighbour across the street while the snow was falling like it was the middle of winter and she said she had sump pump if ours failed which was awesome on her part. We only moved to Chatham in Jan. of 2019 and we have been so lucky to have wonderful neighbours on both sides and across the street. It really hit home this evening when my power came on and I was on my porch and I heard the chimes of the church bells at Queen and Wellington? (sorry if my grid is wrong). It was such a still moment and I heard the chimes very clearly from where I am. So my ramble is about being grateful and happy to be living in as caring and great community as I had left. Thanks Chatham for making us feel so welcome and caring as much as you do!
