Winter Break is beginning a day early for students in Chatham-Kent.
All schools in C-K are closed today. Not just the buses cancelled, schools are closed.
Students, teachers and staff return to school Monday, January 9th.
It’s the busiest travel time of the year, and this should cause some headaches.
WestJet has cancelled all flights arriving and departing Toronto Pearson Airport as of 9am this morning until the end of day.
They hope to restart operations by Saturday, depending on weather conditions.
The cancellations will impact 140 flights across five airports – Ottawa International Airport (YOW), London International Airport (YXU), the Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF), and Montreal-Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport (YUL).
Air Canada has cancelled a number of domestic flights today but plans to go ahead with scheduled international flights.
Garbage and recycling collection will be delayed one day next week of December 26th.

The Municipality is offering some discounted ice rentals over the holidays.
Bookings will be on a first come first serve basis. Book by calling 519-360-1998 Monday-Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm. The cost for ice is $100.00 per hour.

If you need to stock up the liquor cabinet or beer fridge for the weekend, you’d better think ahead.
On Christmas Eve the LCBO and The Beer Store will be closing early at 6pm.
Both LCBO and Beer Store locations close for the day on December 25th. Stores will be open from 11am to 5pm on Boxing Day.
