The Chatham Concert Band will perform tonight at St. Paul’s Congregational Church (450 Park Ave W, Chatham) for their annual Christmas concert.

The free show begins at 7 p.m.


The Chatham Goodfellows will be delivering toys tonight.

Those interested in volunteering can sign up at ChathamGoodfellows.ca or show up at the former Peavey Mart (St. Clair St., Chatham) at 5 p.m.

Food packing is tomorrow morning, and delivery is around noon. Volunteers can show up at the Spirit and Life Centre to help out.


It’s Movie Night at the Capitol.

Come by the Chatham Capitol Theatre tonight to see Home Alone at 7 on the big screen. Doors open at 6:30.

Every one is welcome, $7 cash at the door and concessions are available.

Last week we told you Oscar Mayer’s Wienermobile was accepting applications to drive the giant hot dog around for the summer.

Now another unique job opportunity: Planters is opening applications for its annual Peanutters program. Three brand ambassadors will be selected to travel the country in the iconic PLANTERS NUTmobile.

The NUTmobile is a 26-foot-long peanut on wheels. The first NUTmobile hit the roads in 1935.

They are experiencing an unusually dark December, with just 30 minutes of sunlight so far, putting it on pace for its darkest December since 1934. Meteorologists say cloud cover from mild, humid weather has blocked the sun, which is already weak this time of year.

December normally averages about 33 hours of sunlight in the Swedish capital. With little snowfall to reflect light and no clear skies in sight, officials say hopes for a brighter — or white — Christmas are looking slim.
