\"\"Ottawa\u2019s Rideau Canal Skateway<\/a> has closed for the season just 31 days after opening.<\/p>\n

The unusually warm weather was causing the ice to melt and the skateway\u2019s maintenance team were struggling to keep conditions safe. For the same reasons, the full length of the skateway was never completely opened.<\/p>\n

\"\"Even though the season was cut short, the skateway still had 381,000 visitors to the ice.<\/p>\n

The canal is the world’s largest and second longest skating rink is 7.8 kilometres (4.8 mi) or about 90 Olympic ice hockey rinks.<\/p>\n

This was the 50th season of skating on the Rideau Canal.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"Canada Revenue Agency<\/a> has a new feature for Canadians to uncover cash they might not have known about.<\/p>\n

Although the online tool was only soft-launched by the CRA, it didn’t come to people’s attention until it was publicized by a Twitter user.<\/p>\n

The tool is easy to find if you have an online account with Revenue Canada. All you have to do is log in through the “My Account” portal and find the “uncashed cheques” option under “Related Services.”<\/p>\n

There, you can see just how much money you might still be owed from the government in cheques that were never cashed or deposited.<\/p>\n

The CRA gives taxpayers the option of having paper cheques mailed to them or receiving money through direct deposit.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\" Tightrope walker Nik Wallenda<\/a> will walk over an active volcano tonight on TV.<\/p>\n

He’s going to attempt to walk over the Masaya Volcano in Nicaragua. Nik says the volcano will be a huge distraction.<\/p>\n

Wallenda has made successful walks across Niagara Falls and Times Square. He’s been training with an oxygen mask to mirror the conditions above the volcano. He will be wearing goggles, a mask and possibly even oxygen tanks for the walk. His shoes have been designed with thicker soles to help cut possible heat coming from the volcano and the cable will feel like a bar, the high wire artist said.<\/p>\n
