\"\"Doug Ford<\/a> announced yesterday that select Ontario retailers will reopen this week in time for Mother\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

\"\"Garden centres will be allowed to fully reopen as of Friday at 12:01 a.m. On Saturday morning, hardware stores will be allowed to reopen.<\/p>\n

Customers will now be able to enter garden centres and hardware stores while observing strict social-distancing guidelines.<\/p>\n

With the number of new COVID-19 cases trending down, the measures designed to slow the spread are working, and making the easing of retail closures possible.<\/p>\n

It was also announced yesterday that the temporary discount on electricity pricing has been extended.<\/p>\n

Back in March, the province suspended time-of-use pricing until Friday, May 8th, to help through the pandemic. It will now be extended until the end of May.<\/p>\n
