Colby is concerned about Phase 2 opening locally, especially because C-K’s neighbours: Windsor-Essex and Sarnia-Lambton were not incluced in that list.<\/p>\n

Veterinarians say boat strike may have killed the humpback whale.<\/p>\n

The whale’s lifeless body was discovered drifting down the river on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

A necropsy (like an autopsy, but performed on animals) will be able to tell if the whale had other health problems that could help explain the whole episode; why it was so far from its home.<\/p>\n

A humpback usually eats krill or small fish, but \u201cin Montreal, of course, it’s not the same species you\u2019d find in the [St. Lawrence] Estuary or the Gulf.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scientists could also end up finding that the whale was healthy overall, with no clear reason to travel so far down the river. It\u2019s possible it simply had an adventurous adolescent mindset that led it to \u201ctry and discover new habitats a bit.\u201d<\/p>\n
