In 2006 the station was decommissioned, and now it&#8217;s about to be used in a very different way.<\/p>\n<p>Phase one of the project is set to open in July 2021. Each night, the station will have 3D projection mapping that shows the history and impressive architecture. You&#8217;ll be able to follow the flow of water to the turbines through augmented reality and even work the control room by using the century-old levers and buttons.<\/p>\n<p>Phase two of the experience will open in July 2022. In this portion of the attraction, you&#8217;ll be able to explore deep beneath the ground. A glass elevator will transport guests 200 feet below the main floor to the massive tunnel that connects the station to the Niagara River.
