The holiday break is over for students but they\u2019re not returning to class, at least not in person.<\/p>\n

As part of the provincewide\u00a0lockdown that started on Boxing Day<\/a>, high school students don\u2019t return to class in person until January 25, and elementary students have a week of remote learning before going to back class on January 11.<\/p>\n

Lambton Kent District School Board Director of Education John Howitt said when the bell rings Monday morning, there will be a short class for all students, junior kindergarten to grade 12.<\/p>\n

Director of Education for the St. Clair Catholic District School Board Deb Crawford said students will be contacted by their teachers Monday to make sure they\u2019re ready for synchronous learning beginning Tuesday, January 5.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no change for students already enrolled in virtual learning.<\/p>\n

Chatham-Kent is currently in a Province-wide Shutdown<\/a> beginning at 12:01 a.m. on December 26, 2020.\u00a0\u00a0The restrictions would remain in effect until\u00a0Saturday, January 23, 2021 for all 27 public health unit regions in Southern Ontario.<\/p>\n

Ontario has reported 2,964 since yesterday January 3rd.<\/p>\n

Chatham-Kent has 99 active cases since the last report on Thursday, December 31st.<\/p>\n

Vaccines continued going into the arms of Ontario health workers and long-term care residents on New Year\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

As of 5 p.m. Friday the province had recorded 4,017 vaccines administered for the day. That brings Ontario\u2019s total number of vaccinated residents to 32,904.<\/p>\n
