\"\"France is sending the U.S. a 10-foot replica of the Statue of Liberty.<\/p>\n

The bronze recreation, which was made from the same plaster model that French sculptor Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Auguste Bartholdi used when he created the original statue in 1878, will be displayed in New York City and the District of Columbia for a limited time this summer.<\/p>\n

After spending time in NYC for the July 4th holiday, Little Lady Liberty will be brought to D.C. where it will spend the next 10 years.<\/p>\n

It has been 135 years since the original statue opened to the public on Ellis Island. The 305-foot monument greeted nearly 14 million immigrants who entered the U.S. through New York from 1886 to 1924.<\/p>\n

Kortney Olson used her thighs to smash three watermelons in 7.5 seconds, nearly halving Ukrainian bodybuilder Olga Liashchuk’s Guinness World Record of 14.65 seconds.<\/p>\n

Olson’s time also beat the male version of the record, which was set at 10.88 seconds by Iranian athlete Rohollah Doshmanziari.<\/p>\n

Olson said she is preparing to teach a watermelon-crushing class and planning an event for August 3rd, National Watermelon Day.
