\"\"\"\"The Chatham Concert Band<\/a> has been given the go ahead to hold concerts in the park this Summer.<\/p>\n

Concerts will run beginning Wednesday, August 4th and will wrap up September 1st in Tecumseh Park.<\/p>\n

This will be the 94th consecutive season, since the band did squeeze in two unadvertised \u201cpop-up\u201d concerts in Chatham late last summer (with the blessing of Public Health) before the pandemic went south again.<\/p>\n

Tokyo\u2019s Games scheduled for last summer were delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

Locally, Ridgetown’s Chris von Martels will make his second games appearance in Equestrian – Dressage.<\/p>\n

Blenheim’s Breanne Nicholas will make her first Olympic appearance in Women’s Rugby.<\/p>\n

Chatham’s Bridget Carleton also makes her first Olympic team for Women’s Basketball. Miranda Ayim was born in Chatham, but grew up in London will also be on the Women’s Basketball team. Her third Olympic Games.<\/p>\n

Bothwell’s Nick Wammes will compete in Cycling representing Canada at the games for the first time.<\/p>\n

Blenheim’s Alex Hyndman will represent Canada at the Paralympic Games in Men\u2019s Handcycle. His first Paralympics. The Paralympics follow the Olympic Games, taking place from August 24th to September 5th.<\/p>\n

\"\"The LEGOLAND Hotel in New York is almost open for business.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The hotel has announced it will open for bookings beginning on August 6th. On Friday the LEGOLAND New York Resort, a LEGO themed theme park, opened.<\/p>\n

All of the rooms are decorated with Pirate, Kingdom, Lego Friends and Lego Ninjago\u202fthemes that feature separate sleeping areas for kids. Activities for hotel guests include visits from Lego characters, a heated outdoor pool and creative workshops for kids.<\/p>\n
