\"\"Environment Canada<\/a> has issued a special weather statement warning for Chatham-Kent calling for very strong winds today.<\/p>\n

Strong southwesterly winds with gusts of 70 to 80 km\/h are expected. Highest winds are expected along the shores of Lake Huron.<\/p>\n

The warning is for Windsor, Leamington, Essex County, Chatham-Kent, and Rondeau Park. The wind should start to ease off later tonight.<\/p>\n

\"\"Anyone 18 and older will be eligible for a booster as of Monday, December 20th, provided they had their second dose 84 days ago.<\/p>\n

Effective immediately, anyone who was already eligible for boosters at the previous six-month interval can now move appointments up to three months since their second dose. Eligibility for boosters to all adults was initially set for January 4th.<\/p>\n

Starting Saturday at 12:01am, Ontario is introducing capacity limits of 50% for indoor entertainment venues, meeting and event spaces, sports venues with a indoor capacity greater than 1,000 people, as well as movie theaters and casinos. Food and drink establishments are not effected by the changes at this time.<\/p>\n

There were 25 resolved cases, the number of active cases locally is 144.<\/p>\n

Ontario reported 1,808 new cases – it’s the daily highest case count in nearly seven months.<\/p>\n

\"\"The Municipality of Chatham-Kent<\/a> will host a Facebook Live presentation Community Presentation on Enumeration.<\/p>\n

The presentation on local homelessness will begin at 7:30 on the municipality’s Facebook page<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In October the Municipality, and other organizations, identified 171 individuals as being homeless. This is a 144% increase from the last enumeration in 2018.<\/p>\n
