Budget talks began last night with the original projected a tax increase of 4.74% for 2022. Now, with the approval of some budget cuts, the proposed tax increase is down to 3.37%.<\/p>\n

\"\"Municipal offices in Ridgetown, Tilbury, and Dresden that have been closed for a couple of weeks because of COVID-19 are set to reopen today.<\/p>\n

The centres have been closed since January 12 due to high levels of municipal staff under COVID-19 protocol.<\/p>\n

The municipality<\/a> still encourages to use municipal online services<\/a> even though the centres are open.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"Chatham-Kent Public Health<\/a> reported two deaths from COVID19 on Wednesday, bringing the total to 46 locally; 6 this week alone.<\/p>\n

There remains 14 patients hospitalized for COVID.<\/p>\n

Ontario is reporting 4,016 people in hospital with COVID on Wednesday. There were 92 more deaths in the province; the highest daily total in over a year.<\/p>\n

\"\"Gas prices on the rise across the province today.<\/p>\n

The average in C-K is right around $148.9 cents per litre.<\/p>\n

If the market stays the course, prices could jump again tomorrow. The GTA could see prices hit 151.9 cents a litre and 150.9 cents for most other cities in the province. That would be 2 cents above the all-time record for Ontario set on November 4th.<\/p>\n
