Candidates for mayor, council or school board trustee, are required to collect 25 signatures endorsing their candidacy. Nominations need to be filed using the prescribed nomination paper and filed either in person the returning officer or clerk.<\/p>\n

There is a $200 fee to run for mayor and a $100 fee for all other positions including school board trustee and councillor.<\/p>\n

Anyone over the age of 18, who is a Canadian citizen and either lives in or owns property in the municipality where they are running is eligible.<\/p>\n

Nominations close on August 19th, and the municipal vote is on October 24th.<\/p>\n
