The first attempt was called off on Monday due to a range of problems. The launch team made significant adjustments to try on Saturday, but those plans were scrubbed after team members discovered a liquid hydrogen leak that they spent the better part of the morning trying to resolve.<\/p>\n

The Artemis I mission is just the beginning of a program that will aim to return humans to the moon and eventually land crewed missions on Mars.<\/p>\n

Artemis I’s next launch attempt may not happen until later this year.<\/p>\n

#Artemis<\/a> Update: The team continues to troubleshoot, and plans to return with a variety of options early next week. We are standing down on any launch attempts through the current launch period, which ends Tuesday.<\/p>\n

A thermometer at Death Valley<\/a>, U.S. National Park in southern California, reached 127 degrees Fahrenheit (52 degrees C) on September 1st in the Furnace Creek area.<\/p>\n

The scorching record comes close to the world\u2019s highest recorded temperature, which also occurred in Death Valley in 1912, the mercury topped out at 134 degrees.<\/p>\n
