\"\"The Wallaceburg Farmers Market<\/a> is open 8am-noon in the municipal parking lot on James St.<\/p>\n

Ridgetown hosts a Farmers Market<\/a> Saturday 8-noon. The market is held on Main St. every Saturday.<\/p>\n

Both markets will wrap up October 8th.<\/p>\n

\"\"A massive bronze sculpture of Fergie Jenkins will be coming to Chatham-Kent.<\/p>\n

This will be an exact replica of the statue unveiled outside Wrigley Field in May. The C-K version is scheduled to arrive next spring at the Chatham-Kent civic centre, a temporary home until a permanent location can be found.<\/p>\n

An anonymous donor is paying all costs for the statue and its installation.<\/p>\n

Jenkins pitched 10 of his 19 major league seasons with the Cubs. He retired after the 1983 season with a 284-226 record and 3,192 strikeouts. The 1971 Cy Young Award winner and seven-time 20-game winner was the first Canadian inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n

Fergie is in town for the Chatham Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony last night and he’ll be at the Field of Honour baseball game honouring the 1934 Chatham Colored All-Stars on Saturday at Fergie Jenkins Field at Rotary Park.<\/p>\n

\n

Chatham-Kent’s Civic Centre will house a donated Fergie Jenkins sculpture, duplicated from the one outside of Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois.<\/p>\n

The sculpture is by artist Lou Cella and is expected in spring 2023.<\/p>\n

\"\"The 2nd annual Field of Honour Charity Baseball Game<\/a> is tomorrow at Fergie Jenkins Field (corner of Queen St. and Tweedsmuir Ave. E, Chatham) First pitch at 11am.<\/p>\n

The game will honour the Chatham Coloured All-Stars.<\/p>\n

Descendants of the Coloured All-Stars baseball team will be competing against one another on the baseball diamond in honour of and to celebrate the legacy of this historic team. The 1934 Chatham Coloured All-Stars were the first all-Black team to win an Ontario Baseball Association Championship.<\/p>\n

Entrance to the day will be by donation. There will be a donation tent set up at the front of the park. All seating is first come, first serve so get to the game early and pack lawn chairs for additional seating.<\/p>\n

\"\"Ford<\/a> unveiled the evolutionary 2024 Mustang at the North American International Auto Show<\/a> this week.<\/p>\n

\"\"Two new “features” are sure to entertain enthusiasts and annoy the hell out of their neighbours. The 2024 Mustang is available with a Remote Rev feature accessed through the key fob, and an electronic handbrake designed for novice drifters.<\/p>\n

The Remote Rev function will work much like a car’s traditional remote start: Hold down a button on the key fob, and the engine will start revving. It will sound and rev the same way each time, but drivers can press the button over and over.<\/p>\n

The Electronic Drift Brake has a big metal and leather handle that looks like a traditional sports car’s handbrake. It has preprogrammed settings to help novice drifters improve their skills and takes less effort to use than a mechanical handbrake.<\/p>\n

The new Mustang will still have the Line Lock feature, which makes it extremely easy to do a burnout.<\/p>\n

The 2024 Mustang will reach dealers next summer.<\/p>\n

The Auto Show is open to the public until Sunday.<\/p>\n
