The pair of Levi’s were found in an old mine years ago and are covered in candle wax. The jeans are cut off below the knees and have suspender buttons on the waist and a single back pocket.<\/p>\n

Only a couple of similar pairs exist \u2014 but they are kept in museums and too delicate to wear. This pair, however, “are surprisingly durable, so they could be worn.<\/p>\n

The new owners would consider selling to a private buyer or to be displayed in a museum. For now, they’re kept in a safety deposit box in Los Angeles and are available for viewing by appointment.<\/p>\n
