They are looking for community members who knit or crochet. They need volunteers to create gloves, hats and headbands for those in need during the cold months. Yarn will be provided.<\/p>\n

With the pandemic, the last few years has had a major impact on the non-profits in Chatham-Kent. These organizations rely heavily on volunteers to provide vital services to the community.<\/p>\n

This is a one-stop information session to show the community what volunteer positions are available.<\/p>\n

The Volunteer Expo Showcase CK is open to anyone who is looking to volunteer.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"The Royal Canadian Legion<\/a>\u2019s poppy campaign began on Friday.<\/p>\n

For the first time ever, the Legion is distributing new biodegradable Poppies during this year\u2019s campaign. They are crafted from a variety of natural materials including paper, cotton velvet, plaster, moss, and bamboo. It will take a few years for older stock to be depleted, but eventually all Poppies and wreaths used during the campaign will be biodegradable.<\/p>\n

The 2022 Digital Poppy will once again be presented through MyPoppy.ca<\/a>. You can dedicate a Digital Poppy and share it on your social media channels.<\/p>\n

The annual campaign runs until Remembrance Day, with money raised by each legion branch helping veterans and their families in those communities.<\/p>\n

Students from Ursuline College<\/a> will be holding their Lancers Scare Hunger food drive<\/a> again tonight. Between 5-8pm, UCC students (who will be identified) will be going door to door to collect non perishables for Outreach for Hunger<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This is the 15th year for the food drive.<\/p>\n
