\"\"An odd moment during the NBA game on Friday when former UFC<\/a> champion Conor McGregor<\/a> knocked out the Miami Heat<\/a> mascot.<\/p>\n

Burnie, actually the guy who wears Burnie\u2019s costume, needed medical attention after taking two punches from McGregor during a third-quarter stoppage. The employee, who was not identified, received pain medication and was resting at home.<\/p>\n

The mascot was wearing boxing gloves and a robe, took a McGregor left hook, knocking him down, then another punch after he hit the floor. McGregor then tried to \u201cspray\u201d the mascot with the pain-relief product, while the in-game promotional team dragged Burnie off the court.<\/p>\n

McGregor was there as a promotional gimmick for a pain-relief spray \u2014 and was booed by the Miami crowd.<\/p>\n

We all know and love the big purple Grimace, but what is he exactly? He is from Grimace Island and comes from a spectacularly huge family, which includes his Grandma Winky, aunts Millie and Tillie and, of course, Uncle O\u2019Grimacey, who was once the Shamrock Shake\u2019s mascot. Through Grimace lore it is believed that he is a taste bud, but McDonald’s has never confirmed that, only saying, \u201cHe is an enormous taste bud, but a taste bud nonetheless.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grimace is turning 51 by the way.
