\"\"The Ontario Hockey League<\/a>‘s Saginaw Spirit<\/a> announced an affiliation with the GOJHL<\/a> Chatham Maroons<\/a> on Monday.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\"The affiliation allows the Spirit to loan prospects the Maroons so they can prepare to play in the OHL. It’ll also help Chatham with recruiting players to the team.<\/p>\n

Next season, the Spirit will be the first Michigan team to host the Memorial Cup. They have a guaranteed spot in the Canadian Hockey League\u2019s four-team championship tournament.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"Thousands of Reddit<\/a> forums went dark Monday in a user-driven protest against the social media platform.<\/p>\n

The voluntary blackouts lead by Reddit’s largest online communities, include popular groups devoted to music, history, sports, and video games, restrict groups’ content from being publicly visible. The protests include more than two dozen subreddits with at least 10 million subscribers, as well as thousands of smaller networks.<\/p>\n

The protests are over a Reddit plan to charge millions of dollars in fees for some third-party apps to continue accessing the platform. The plan has forced several of Reddit’s top app-makers to shut down because they cannot afford the new costs, which are set to begin as soon as next month.<\/p>\n

For years, Reddit users could browse posts, write comments and share pictures and video on Reddit from third-party apps. Now, however, Reddit is seeking large payments from app makers to maintain that same level of access.<\/p>\n
