Environment Canada says a hot and humid weather event is expected to start today and last the next two or three days.<\/p>\n

Today, we’ll see highs near 30 with a humidex in the upper 30s.<\/p>\n

\"\"Eligible Canadians are set to get a one-time grocery rebate tomorrow.<\/span><\/p>\n

The benefit was announced as part of the 2023 federal government budget and will be delivered as either a direct deposit or cheque.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The rebate is meant to compensate Canadians for higher grocery prices, although it can be spent on anything.<\/span><\/p>\n

The amount received will be calculated based on your family situation in January 2023 and your 2021 adjusted family net income. <\/span>On average, the rebate will be up to $467 for eligible couples with two children, $234 for single Canadians without children, and $225 for seniors.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is no need to apply for the rebate and will be issued alongside the quarterly GST\/HST payment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"There\u2019s a blood donor clinic today in Chatham at the Portuguese Canadian Club.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You can book your spot online at blood.ca,<\/a> by using the Canadian Blood Services app or by calling 1-888-2-DONATE.<\/span><\/p>\n

The next available clinic will be at the Ken Houston Arena in Dresden on July 11.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Some fare pricing changes came into effect for Ride CK over the long weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n

As of Saturday, riders who pay their fare using a Cash Pass will now receive a discount off the exact cash fare on all Ride CK services.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There is also a slight fare increase for the 30-day Urban Pass.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 22-Ride Pass for inter-urban routes will continue to be accepted but is no longer for sale.<\/span><\/p>\n

Exact change for urban and inter-urban conventional services will be held at $2.50 and $5.00, respectively. Exact cash for Chatham Accessible and Wallaceburg Accessible specialized urban transit services and demand-responsive Wallaceburg service will be held at $2.50<\/span><\/p>\n

Children five years and under continue to be free with a paying passenger.<\/span><\/p>\n
