The bridge was closed to vehicles and pedestrians on Tuesday and expected to re-open on Friday evening. However, it re-opened Thursday afternoon instead.<\/p>\n

The closure was required to replace asphalt on either side of the bridge.<\/p>\n

Some good news, if you’re traveling over the long weekend, today could be a good day to fill up your tank.<\/p>\n

Gas prices in southern Ontario are expected to drop four cents a litre today.<\/p>\n

That would bring the average price in the province to $1.67 a litre.<\/p>\n

As of 5 am, gas prices in Chatham are around $1.65, $1.60 in Wallaceburg and $1.58 in Tilbury.<\/p>\n

There’s a food drive in Blenheim this weekend.<\/p>\n

Donations of non-perishable food items, gifts cards and cash can be dropped off for the\u00a0Out-a-Space 2.0 fundraiser<\/a> at Sobeys in Blenheim from 10 am-2 pm on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Waste Connections will match donations up to $10,000. All proceeds will go to the World of Life Church Soup Kitchen.<\/p>\n

The event will also feature a free BBQ, free games and some prizes.<\/p>\n

\"\"Some new activities kick off Friday for CK Rec Summer Fest.<\/p>\n

After Beach Days and Play Rangers every weekend in July, CK Rec will hold Party and Movie in the Park every Friday for the month of August.<\/p>\n

Tonight, it will be at Crothers Park in Wallaceburg. Party in the Park runs from 6 pm-8pm and the movie starts at dusk. Tonight’s movie is The Super Mario Bros movie.<\/p>\n

Summer Fest events are free.<\/p>\n
