There are 9 days remaining until the end of the year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-54690 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/bri-web-app-wordpress\/2018\/09\/ef794108-cksy_5_things_1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"46\" height=\"90\" \/>It&#8217;s looking more and more like it&#8217;ll be a Green Christmas.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/weather.gc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Environment Canada<\/a> says it&#8217;s the result of a strong El Nino pattern this fall coming after a spring and summer that was already unusually warm.<\/p>\n<p>A mix of sun, cloud and showers leading up to Christmas Eve before temperatures will peak. Cloudy with a high of 10C for the 24th and 25th, some showers expected Boxing Day.<\/p>\n<p>Environment Canada does warn that we will face some serious winter in 2024.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-406 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/bri-web-app-wordpress\/2018\/09\/fd341b29-cksy_5_things_2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"59\" height=\"74\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1075\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/bri-web-app-wordpress\/2018\/10\/063719a8-canadian-blood-services.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"148\" height=\"40\" \/>Donors are needed!<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blood.ca\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blood donor clinic<\/a> next week in Blenheim. The clinic will be heald at St. Mary&#8217;s Hall on Tuesday 1:30-7:30pm<\/p>\n<p>No walk-in appointments are available. Book your appointment at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blood.ca\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Blood.ca<\/a>, call 1-888-2-DONATE or use the apps.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re unable to donate this week, there is a clinic in Wallaceburg on January 2nd and the UAW Hall from 1-7pm.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-54692 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/bri-web-app-wordpress\/2018\/09\/3acb2f67-cksy_5_things_3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"58\" height=\"90\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-922\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/bri-web-app-wordpress\/2018\/10\/0c411095-municipality-of-chatham-kent.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"159\" height=\"35\" \/>A few things to keep in mind with the holidays here:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Curbside garbage and recycling collection will be delayed by one day for the weeks of December 26 and January 1, 2024.<\/li>\n<li>Ride CK services will be closed December 25, 26 and January 1.<\/li>\n<li>All branches of the Chatham-Kent Public Library will be closed December 25, 26, 27, 31, and January 1 and 2.<\/li>\n<li>All arenas are closed December 25, 26 and January 1.<\/li>\n<li>Municipal offices will be closed December 25, 26, 27, and January 1.<\/li>\n<li>The Chatham-Kent Museum and the Thames Art Gallery and ARTspace is closed December 24, 25, 26, 31 and January 1 and 2. An estimated 1.5 million passengers will be flying through DTW from now through January 1st. That&#8217;s a 10% increase in the number of passengers from last year.<\/p>\n<p>Arrive early! Make sure your passport and other documents up-to-date and don&#8217;t wrap gifts because they&#8217;ll have to be unwrapped.
