Bluesky<\/a>, a Twitter-like social network put together by Jack Dorsey, is now allowing anyone to create an account and join the service.<\/p>\n

Until Tuesday this week, anyone hoping to join Bluesky needed an invitation. That invite-only period gave the site time to build out tools and other features.<\/p>\n

Bluesky looks a lot like Twitter, although it doesn\u2019t yet offer direct messaging between users. By default, Bluesky displays posts by accounts you follow in a linear timeline, not driven by algorithms.<\/p>\n

Bluesky aims to be \u201c the last social account you\u2019ll ever need to create.\u201d Once things really get going, Bluesky plans to set users free by allowing them to move their collections of friends, followers and other data to competing social networks.<\/p>\n

The owners of the store, located in Belleville’s Quinte Mall, have announced they will be retiring after 45 years of ownership. Unless someone steps up to continue managing the store, that will be it for the iconic music store.<\/p>\n

Sam the Record Man first opened 65 years ago in 1959 on Toronto\u2019s Yonge Street. In 1982, the chain had grown to 140 stores.
