As part of Dalton McGuinty’s 2007 election platform he promised to establish a provincial holiday in February.<\/p>\n

Family Day now falls on the third Monday in February. The first was observed on February 18th, 2008.<\/p>\n

Family Day is only observed in New Brunswick, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan and in British Columbia.<\/p>\n

CKRecreation is ready to celebrate the Family Day Fun Factory Event.<\/p>\n

Come out and play on Family Day, February 19th from 11a.m.-3p.m. at the John D. Bradley Centre. There will be inflatables, glow golf, and activities for the whole family.<\/p>\n

\nGarbage and recycling pick up will be delayed by one day next week.<\/p>\n

Blenheim Gable Rees Rotary Pool and\u00a0Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool\u00a0are open for their free swims<\/a> from 10:30-noon and from 1-2:30. Space is limited.<\/p>\n

The long weekend forecast is looking fairly promising for mid-February.<\/p>\n

We’ll see sunshine on and off on Saturday with a high of -2C, then some clouds on Sunday with a high of 2C. Temps will get up to 4C with sunshine on Family Day, according to Environment Canada.<\/p>\n
