\"\"\"\"Sprinter Andre De Grasse and Olympic weightlifting champion Maude Charron will carry Canada\u2019s flag into the opening ceremonies of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris<\/a> on Friday.<\/p>\n

De Grasse is from Markham and has six Olympic medals to make him Canada\u2019s most decorated man in Summer Olympic Games history. Charron of Rimouski, Quebec, captured weightlifting gold in the women\u2019s 64-kilogram division in Tokyo.<\/p>\n

This is De Grasse’s third Olympic Games and second for Charron.<\/p>\n

The Opening Ceremonies will feature 200 countries on the River Seine with the athletes arriving on boats, instead of the traditional march into a stadium. Canada\u2019s team in Paris includes 338 athletes and alternates.<\/p>\n
