Ethan is battling a rare second fight with lymphoblastic lymphoma T-cell leukemia. He is currently receiving treatment in London. After going into remission in December 2023, the cancer has returned.<\/p>\n

On Saturday at Chatham’s Real Canadian Superstore from 8 a.m. – 2 a.m., Canadian Blood Services is asking eligible people to join the registry to give hope to Ethan and other patients waiting for a stem cell match.<\/p>\n

If you are aged 17-35 and in good general health, you can be a match. You don\u2019t have to be at a swabbing event to register. Visit blood.ca\/Ethan<\/a>, and a swabbing kit will be sent to your home.<\/p>\n

\"\"Ice rentals are now available at Blenheim Memorial Arena, Chatham\u2019s Thames Campus Arena and Dresden\u2019s Ken Houston Memorial Agricultural Centre.<\/p>\n

Adult and Membership Skating, Tiny Tot Skating, and Stick & Puck Skills sessions are also available to the public at Thames Campus Arena. Programming schedules, rates, and ice booking information can be found

\"\"\"\"Speaking of ice, the Stanley Cup<\/a> is coming to the area this weekend.<\/p>\n

As part of the tradition of winning the Stanley Cup, each member of the team is given one day with the trophy to celebrate however they’d like.<\/p>\n

Florida Panther<\/a> defenseman and Belle River-native Aaron Ekblad will bring the cup to the Atlas Tube Recreation Centre<\/a> in Lakeshore on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The event will be on a first-come, first-served basis, due to limited time. Starting at 8 a.m., attendees can line up and viewings will start at 9:10 a.m.<\/p>\n

Bring your own cameras and you will get to see the Cup and pose for a photo with Ekblad. Autographs will not be offered.<\/p>\n

Aaron’s brother Darien Ekblad played goalie for the Chatham Maroons 2012-14.<\/p>\n

\"\"Twenty-one years ago today at 4:11p.m. 50 million people to lose power in the northeastern United States and Ontario.<\/p>\n

It was the worst blackout in North American history.<\/p>\n

A series of failures in Ohio triggered the blackout. A system monitoring tool was not working, then a generating unit tripped off in an overloaded portion of the grid, and then overheated transmission lines began sagging into overgrown trees and tripping.<\/p>\n

By the time officials realized the system was in jeopardy, it was too late to intervene and the collapse sent unsustainable loads into neighbouring jurisdictions.<\/p>\n
