The Barnstormers finished their first season with, three straight wins, including a 6-5 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday. They end their first regular season with a 20-22 record; 10-11 at home and 10-11 on the road. The Barnstormers finish 5th in the nine team league.<\/p>\n

Their first round opponent is still to be decided, but it looks like they’ll play the Guelph Royals beginning this weekend, with the Royals having home field advantage. Playoff tickets will be available online or at the office on Wednesday, August 21st.<\/p>\n

When the full moon\u2019s orbit brings it closer to Earth than usual, the combo is called a supermoon.<\/p>\n

Called a “super blue moon,” the rare combination occurs when the different cycles of blue and supermoons happen to align on the calendar. Despite the name, the moon won’t actually appear to be blue tonight. It’ll look like most other full moons we’re accustomed to seeing. There are two types of blue moons: seasonal and monthly. Tonight, will be a seasonal blue moon.<\/p>\n

A seasonal blue moon occurs when there are four full moons in a single season. When this happens, the third of the four is considered a blue moon. The second is the monthly blue moon, referring to the second full moon in a single calendar month.<\/p>\n

In either case, blue moons earn their reputation for being rare.<\/p>\n

The next monthly Blue Moon is on May 31, 2026.
