Sunshine for the rest of the week, with a high of 13C. Maybe some rain late in the work week.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"Today is Remembrance Day, commemorating the end of WWI at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.<\/p>\n

It’s the 106th anniversary of the armistice signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany in France.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s observed in Canada & the UK, and in Belgium & France as Armistice Day.<\/p>\n

The tradition is to observe 2 minutes silence at 11am.<\/p>\n

\n

\"\"There will be ceremonies across the municipality of Chatham-Kent to pay respects to veterans and current Canadian military members.<\/p>\n

Here’s what’s happening on Monday, November 11:<\/p>\n

Chatham<\/b>
\nRoyal Canadian Legion Branch #642 will host the tribute for Chatham.<\/p>\n

The parade will form at the Legion at 10:30 a.m., before marching off at 10:45 a.m. The parade will end at the Cenotaph, where the service will be held.<\/p>\n

Blenheim\/Erieau<\/b>
\nThe Remembrance Day parade will form up at 10:30 a.m. at the Legion before marching down George Street to St. Mary’s Hall.<\/p>\n

After the 11 a.m. service at St. Mary’s Hall, the parade will return to the Legion to lay wreaths at the Cenotaph.<\/p>\n

In Erieau, a service will be held at 2 p.m. With everyone set to meet at 1:45 p.m. at Molly & O.J.’s Restaurant.<\/p>\n

Both services are being hosted by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #185.<\/p>\n

For those interested in learning more about the area’s military past, the Blenheim Military Museum & Resource Centre will be open on November 11, between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.<\/p>\n

Bothwell<\/b>
\nBothwell’s ceremonies will be held by Canadian legion Branch #252.<\/p>\n

A service will be held at the Cenotaph at 11 a.m.<\/p>\n

There will also be a Roast Beef Supper held at the Legion from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The cost is $25 for an adult and $10 for children aged 10 and under.<\/p>\n

Dresden<\/b>
\nLegion members will meet at the fire hall at 10:45 a.m. before marching to the cenotaph. At 11 a.m., a ceremony will take place including two minutes of silence, the laying of wreaths, and a fly-over.<\/p>\n

At 6:30 p.m. on Monday, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #113 will host a banquet for $15 per ticket.<\/p>\n

Merlin<\/b>
\nRoyal Canadian Legion Branch #465 in Merlin has a number of events planned.<\/p>\n

On Monday, the parade will march from the Legion to the cenotaph to Merlin Community Hall. The Remembrance Day service starts at 10:50 a.m.<\/p>\n

Ridgetown<\/b>
\nRidgetown’s parade will begin at the Legion and end at the cenotaph, with a service to start by 11 a.m.<\/p>\n

Following the service, lunch and refreshments will be available at Royal Canadian Legion Branch #243.<\/p>\n

Tilbury<\/b>
\nTilbury’s Remembrance Day service is hosted by Royal Canadian Legion Branch #206.<\/p>\n

It will start at 10:50 a.m. at the Cenotaph at Canal Street East.<\/p>\n

Wallaceburg<\/b>
\nThe Royal Canadian Legion Branch #18 Wallaceburg will be hosting a Remembrance Day Service at the Cenotaph.<\/p>\n

That service starts at 10:55 a.m. and is followed by refreshments at the Legion.<\/p>\n

Before that, at 9 a.m., there will be a marching of the colours, student performance, and laying of wreaths at Wallaceburg District Secondary School.<\/p>\n

Wheatley<\/b>
\nParticipants of the Wheatley Remembrance Day Parade will meet at 10:15 a.m. at Mercer’s Service Centre. The parade will form up and march for the Cenotaph at 10:30 a.m.<\/p>\n

The service will take place at 10:45 a.m. and is hosted by Royal Canadian Legion Branch #324.<\/p>\n

\"\"Here\u2019s a list of what\u2019s open and closed today:<\/p>\n

Schools, grocery stores, and retail stores will be open. The LCBO and The Beer Store will be regular hours.<\/p>\n

Banks and Federal offices will be closed. There will be no mail delivery today.<\/p>\n

Municipality of Chatham-Kent offices and some services will be closed in recognition of Remembrance Day.<\/p>\n

CK Public Health, EarlyON programs, museums, CKTickets box office, Entegrus and libraries will be closed.<\/p>\n

Garbage and recycling pickup will not be affected. All leaf and yard depots and transfer stations will be open regular hours. All arenas will be open.<\/p>\n

All Ride CK Transit services will be operating.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"The Salvation Army Chatham Kent<\/a> is looking for Red Kettle volunteers.<\/p>\n

Kettles will be on the streets beginning Thursday. Funds raised directly support local families and children in need.<\/p>\n
