Drop off your gently used puzzles to the Blenheim Branch during library hours today, and get a voucher. Come back tomorrow from noon – 3:30 p.m., for new-to-you puzzles. The number of puzzles you bring in determines the number of puzzles you can swap.<\/p>\n

Any leftover puzzles will go to the library book sale to support library programming.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"Beginning today, until the end of the month, Point Pelee National Park<\/a> will be temporarily closed to visitors.<\/p>\n

The closure is to allow for Parks Canada and Caldwell First Nation to conduct a deer cull. There is a overabundance of white-tailed deer in the park. The current deer herd population remains higher than what the ecosystem can support and poses a safety risk.<\/p>\n

The park is expected to re-open on February 1st.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"Giant pandas Bao Li (pronounced BOW-lee) and Qing Bao (pronounced ching-BOW) will make their public debut today at the National Zoo in Washington, DC<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The pair arrived from China in October and are expected to remain on loan for 10 years.<\/p>\n

\"\"Today is an important day in history. Beer history to be exact.<\/p>\n

On January 24, 1935, the Gottfried Krueger Brewing Company<\/a>, in collaboration with the American Can Company, introduced Krueger\u2019s Finest Beer and Krueger\u2019s Cream Ale in cans to the public in Richmond, Virginia. It was the first day beer was sold in cans.<\/p>\n

Krueger’s Cream Ale first went on sale in cans this date, but the beer can really made its debut 14 months earlier. The American Can Company had engineered a workable beer can, all that was needed was a brewer willing to fill it. The Gottfried Krueger Brewing Company of Newark, NJ signed on the dotted line in November 1933. By the end of that month, American had installed a temporary canning line and delivered 2,000 Krueger’s Special Beer cans, which were promptly filled with 3.2% Krueger beer – the highest alcohol content allowed at the time. Krueger’s Special Beer thus became the world’s first beer can.<\/p>\n
