\"\"Canada and the United States have avoided a tariff war for now after Donald Trump and Justin Trudeau phone call.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Trudeau announced on Monday that Canada will launch a $1.3-billion border security plan. Canada will also appoint a Fentanyl Czar, list cartels as terrorists, launch a Canada-U.S. Joint Strike Force to combat organized crime, fentanyl, and money laundering.<\/p>\n

U.S. President Trump agreed to pause any tariffs on Canadian goods for 30 days while the plan is implemented.<\/p>\n

Ontario Premier Doug Ford added that with the pause in tariffs, there will also be a pause in any retaliatory measures. The LCBO will continue to allow American-made alcoholic beverages to be sold. It will also put on hold a decision to stop American companies from bidding on Canadian contracts.<\/p>\n

Monday was the first time Trudeau and Trump have spoken since the president\u2019s inauguration on January 20th.<\/p>\n

Tim Horton’s<\/a> will reintroduce hot beverage cups with rims that can be rolled up to reveal a prize when the promotion gets underway on February 24th.<\/p>\n

The promotion was first launched in 1986 but was known as Roll up the Rim to Win until 2020, when the company moved the contest to a completely digital format. The shift was meant to keep staff from having to handle rims gripped and sipped by customers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company has found a way to deal with the health concerns; winners will show staff their winning rims before dropping them in a box.<\/p>\n

The digital side of the promotion, will still continue for customers to earn \u201cdigital rolls\u201d.
