Roll Up the Rim is back.<\/p>\n

Tim Horton’s has brought back the original cups with rims that can be rolled up to win a prize.\u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

The promotion was first launched in 1986 and was known as Roll up the Rim to Win until 2020, they moved the contest to a completely digital format to keep staff from having to handle rims gripped and sipped by customers during the pandemic. Now winners will show staff their winning rims before dropping them in a box.<\/p>\n

Tax season has officially started.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

As of today, Canadians will be able to file their income tax and benefit return online.\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

April 30 is the deadline\u00a0for most individuals to file their tax return and pay any taxes owed. If you, or, your spouse or common-law partner, are self-employed, June 15 is the deadline.<\/p>\n

If you’re trying to focus more on buying Canadian-made products, there’s a couple of apps to help with that.<\/p>\n

Scanuck.ca<\/a> lets you check where a product is made by scanning an item’s barcode on the website.\u00a0Once scanned, the site will provide details of the product\u2019s country of origin.<\/p>\n

Buy Beaver is a free mobile app<\/a> that lets you scan the barcodes of everyday products to instantly see how authentically Canadian they are, rating the products from 1-5 based on different criteria including where it was made and who owns the company.<\/p>\n

Another option is the Maple Scan app,<\/a> which can be downloaded on Android and Apple devices and can analyze a product based on its barcode and offers Canadian alternatives.<\/p>\n

Are we getting closer to flying cars?<\/p>\n

A company called Alef Aeronautics just tested their flying car, and they released a video showing it taking off and flying over traffic.<\/p>\n

The company claims that \u201cthis is the first publicly released video of a car driving and taking off vertically.”<\/p>\n

The car is fully electric, can drive on roads, and will cost $300,000. It\u2019s slow on the ground (40 km\/h) but can fly up to 170 km\/hr. They plan to release a bigger version by 2035. Over 3,500 pre-orders has already been placed for the initial model.<\/p>\n

NEW: Alef Aeronautics releases footage of their electric car "jumping" over another car on a road in California.<\/p>\n

The company claims this is the "first test in history of a car drive and vertical takeoff in a city."<\/p>\n
