CKRecreation<\/a> is offering some free swim sessions today in Wallaceburg and Blenheim.<\/p>\n

At the Blenheim Gable Rees Rotary Pool there’s a free swim on today, from 10:30-noon and 2:30-4 p.m.<\/p>\n

At the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool there’s a free swim today 2:30-4 p.m.<\/p>\n

The municipality is offering free public skating at local arenas: today in Dresden at the Ken Houston Memorial Agricultural Centre 11:30-1 p.m. and at Chatham’s William Erickson Arena 1:30-3 p.m.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"The Chatham-Kent Public Library<\/a> is busy with March Break programming this week.<\/p>\n

All branches are hosting drop-in activities daily.<\/p>\n

\"\"The Wendy’s<\/a> Frosty is getting a makeover.<\/p>\n

For years you could only get two flavours: Chocolate or vanilla. Now Wendy\u2019s will offer Frosty Swirls and Frosty Fusions. No word on when they will be rolled out.<\/p>\n

In recent years, they have experimented with seasonal flavours, like pumpkin spice and peppermint, but those temporarily replaced vanilla.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL)<\/a> Takeover Tour will be in Detroit at Little Caesars Arena on Sunday. The New York Sirens and Minnesota Frost face off.<\/p>\n

There are still some tickets available, although they are expected to sell out. Tickets can be bought here<\/a>, starting at $26. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

The teams will practice on Saturday and it will be open to the public.<\/p>\n

\"\"Five years ago today, on this date in 2020, The World Health Organization (WHO)<\/a> declared COVID-19 a global pandemic.<\/p>\n

Shortly after schools, businesses and borders closed. Sports leagues shut down and we all learned how to use Zoom. We learned a bunch of new terms, like PPE, social distancing, essential workers, flatten the curve, shelter in place and N95.<\/p>\n

The first known case was identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. The World Health Organization finally declared COVID was no longer a “global health emergency” three years later on May 5th, 2023. According to their official stats, over 7 million people died worldwide, including over 55,000 in the Canada.<\/p>\n

COVID is still around today, but most experts consider it to be “endemic” now. Meaning, it circulates but it’s much more predictable.<\/p>\n
