It began at 5:01 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>For the next three months here in the Northern Hemisphere the days will grow longer, that will lead us to June&#8217;s Summer Solstice on June 20th, the longest day of the year.<\/p>\n<p>March 19th is actually the earliest day that Spring can be. The last time it happened was 2020, but prior to that it was 128 years ago. It all has to do with Leap Days and Daylight Saving Time.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-406 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/bri-web-app-wordpress\/2018\/09\/fd341b29-cksy_5_things_2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"59\" height=\"74\" \/>So what does Mother Nature have planned for the first day of Spring?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/weather.gc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Environment Canada<\/a> is expecting a rainy start to the day, with rain turning to a mix of rain and flurries this afternoon, high just 8C. Tomorrow the sunshine returns and a high of 9C<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-54692 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/bri-web-app-wordpress\/2018\/09\/3acb2f67-cksy_5_things_3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"58\" height=\"90\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-27522\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.briwebapp.net\/2022\/08\/da376875-chatham-kent-public-library-ckpl.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"214\" height=\"50\" \/>With Spring officially here, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chatham-kent.ca\/library\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chatham-Kent Public Library<\/a>&#8216;s Seed Library will open to allow residents to \u201cborrow\u201d seeds from all branches.<\/p>\n<p>The CKPL Grows Seed Library will offer a variety of vegetable, herb, and flower seeds at each branch. Library members can borrow seeds for free, save the seeds they grow, and return some of those seeds back to the library at the end of the growing season. Gardeners are also encouraged to \u201cgrow a row\u201d for Salvation Army food banks. They&#8217;ve been doing this since 2021 to help fish migrate up a river.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a gate they can&#8217;t get past unless someone opens it for them. So they set up a livestream to let people all over the world monitor the gate.<\/p>\n<p>If you see fish, you click a button to let someone know.
