That’s in honour of Jackie Robinson. 78 years ago today, in 1947, Jackie Robinson became the first African-American to play in a regular season Major League baseball game.<\/p>\n

\"\"Fifty years later, in 1997, the Number 42 was permanently retired throughout all of Major League Baseball<\/a>. That was Jackie’s number when he was with the Brooklyn Dodgers.<\/p>\n

The last guy to wear it was Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera. He retired in 2013, the same year Chadwick Boseman played Jackie in 42.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"Katy Perry, Gayle King, and Jeff Bezos’ fianc\u00e9 Lauren Sanchez successfully completed their space flight yesterday.<\/p>\n

It was an all-female flight that also included a filmmaker, a former NASA scientist, and a research scientist. They spent a brief time being weightless and floating around the cabin. It was about 10 minutes long and they flew to an altitude of 62 miles\/100 kms, just above what’s called the Karman Line which is the edge of the Earth’s atmosphere.<\/p>\n
