You can go online<\/a> now to register or donate to a team.<\/p>\n

The hike is at Mud Creek Trail May 4th. If you can’t make it out on Sunday, you’re welcome to walk the route anytime this week to get your hike in.<\/p>\n

\"\"May is Community Living Month.<\/p>\n

It is a province-wide annual awareness campaign to recognize the accomplishments of the Community Living movement.<\/p>\n

Community Living Chatham-Kent<\/a> will host a flag raising at the Civic Centre in Chatham Friday morning at 11 a.m., with a bbq lunch (by donation) to follow.<\/p>\n

Last night, as part of the Shine a Light on Community Living initiative, Toronto\u2019s CN Tower was lit up in blue and green. Community Living encourages homeowner to join in by changing exterior lights to blue and green to show support.<\/p>\n

\"\"The Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a> will try and wrap up their first round series tonight against the Ottawa Senators. The Leafs lead the best-of-7 series 3-2. Game 6 is in Ottawa tonight at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n

The Chatham Maroons<\/a> will play the St. Catharines Falcons in the Sutherland Cup final. The schedule has not been released yet. This will be the Maroons 4th time in the final, winning once in 1999. This is a rematch of the 2022 Sutherland Cup Final, a sweep by the Falcons.<\/p>\n

\"\"The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL)<\/a> announced an expansion team last week for Vancouver, and Wednesday they announced a second expansion team is coming to Seattle that will start play next season.<\/p>\n

The league will now grow to eight teams. The other teams are located in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Boston, the New York Area and Minnesota.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"Tim Hortons Smile Cookies are still on sale!<\/p>\n

The chocolate chunk cookies topped with pink and blue icing smiles in Blenheim, Ridgetown, Tilbury and Thamesville, proceeds will support the Ontario Student Nutrition Program. In Chatham, Wallaceburg and Dresden, proceeds from the Smile Cookie sales will support the Children\u2019s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent.<\/p>\n

Each cookie will cost $2. The 2024 campaign saw $18.8 million raised for different charities and community groups across the country.<\/p>\n

The cookies are available until Sunday.<\/p>\n

Researchers say that the grapes used in champagne contain high levels of polyphenols, which can improve cardiovascular health.<\/p>\n

“This research is exciting because it illustrates for the first time that moderate consumption of champagne has the potential to influence cardiovascular health.”<\/p>\n

The study adds eating more fruit, staying slim and maintaining a positive outlook on life could help reduce the risk of a sudden cardiac arrest.<\/p>\n
