May 4 is when Star Wars fans celebrate one of their favorite times of the year. It’s a play on the famous “May the force be with you” line from the 1977 film that spawned a massive franchise.<\/p>\n

The classic slogan was originally used on May 4, 1979 to celebrate Margaret Thatcher’s election win to become Britain’s first female prime minister. To celebrate her victory, her party took an advertisement in The London Evening News that read, “May the Fourth Be With You, Maggie. Congratulations!”<\/p>\n
