\"\"Environment Canada<\/a> has issued a Heat Warning<\/a> for Chatham-Kent and a large portion of Ontario.<\/p>\n

Today’s high is expected at 35F, feeling like 42F with the humidity. Not quite as hot for the rest of the week, but the highs will still be in the 30s.<\/p>\n

Environment Canada warns everyone to limit their time outside. Anyone who has to work outside should monitor for symptoms of heat stroke. They include headache, nausea, dizziness, thirst, dark urine, and intense fatigue.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"The Chatham-Kent Barnstormers<\/a> take two of three against the defending IBL Champs Barrie Baycats over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Game one of the series was rained out on Friday, forcing the teams to play a double header on Sunday. Barrie won on Saturday night, and the Barnstormers took both games on Sunday. Chatham-Kent is off until Friday when they travel to London to play the Majors, then home for a pair over the weekend; Kitchener on Saturday, Guelph Sunday.<\/p>\n

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Hamilton, was named the Finals MVP.<\/p>\n

He becomes the fourth player in NBA history to win MVP, Finals MVP, a scoring title and play for a champion in the same season. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar did it once, Michael Jordan then did it four times, and Shaquille O\u2019Neal was the last to do it.<\/p>\n

\"\"The Ford International Fireworks Show<\/a> is tonight on the Windsor\/Detroit waterfront. This is the 67th year of the show.<\/p>\n

The 24-minute show is expected to start at 10:06pm.<\/p>\n

Many Windsor streets will have restricted access to the downtown area beginning at 6, meaning parking will be tight. Transit Windsor<\/a> will offer Windsor city bus at no cost on Monday night, 6 to midnight. There’s also a free shuttle bus service that will travel continuously between Devonshire Mall and a downtown drop-off.<\/p>\n

Windsor Police<\/a> are asking families to take photo of their kids at the beginning of the event, in the same clothes they\u2019re wearing that night. Police say this will ensure you can provide officers with a recent and accurate photo if they are separated during the evening.<\/p>\n

Ensure your child has identification (if age-appropriate) and knows a parent or guardian\u2019s phone number. Choose a designated meeting spot ahead of time in case you become separated. If your child becomes lost, report it immediately to the nearest police officer.<\/p>\n

In this bizarre festival grown men, dressed as El Colacho (the devil), jump over tiny babies to ward off bad luck and to cleanse the babies of the evil that infests them when they are born. The origins of this tradition are not entirely clear, but it is believed to have emerged as a way to ward off evil spirits and protect the newborns. After being jumped over, After that, the babies are blessed with holy water.<\/p>\n

The tradition is over 400 years old.<\/p>\n
