There are 184 days remaining until the end of the year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-54690 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/bri-web-app-wordpress\/2018\/09\/ef794108-cksy_5_things_1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"46\" height=\"90\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once we get past Monday, it looks like it will be fairly decent for our first week of July.<\/p>\n<p>According to Environment Canada, we could see some showers and possibly a thunderstorm on Monday with a high of 30C (Humidex of 39C.)<\/p>\n<p>Besides a very slight chance of rain on Tuesday and Thursday, the week should be sunny with highs in the upper 20s<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-406 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/bri-web-app-wordpress\/2018\/09\/fd341b29-cksy_5_things_2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"59\" height=\"74\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow is Canada Day- Canada turns 158!<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0national day of Canada, The\u00a0federal statutory holiday\u00a0celebrates the anniversary of Canadian Confederation which occurred on July 1, 1867.\u00a0Originally called Dominion Day,<sup id=\"cite_ref-5\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup> the holiday was renamed in 1982<\/p>\n<p>Municipal offices and most services will be closed Tuesday, July 1 in recognition of <span class=\"il\">Canada<\/span> <span class=\"il\">Day<\/span>. All services are operating with normal hours on Monday.\u00a0Ride CK Transit services will not operate Tuesday, July 1 and Tuesday, July 1 waste collection will be delayed by one <span class=\"il\">day.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-54692 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/bri-web-app-wordpress\/2018\/09\/3acb2f67-cksy_5_things_3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"58\" height=\"90\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There will be no shortage of ways to celebrate Canada Day across CK.<\/p>\n<p>Fireworks will take place in the following communities:<\/p>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">BLENHEIM &#8211; Tuesday, July 1st &#8211; at dusk at Glad Tidings Community Church<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">RIDGETOWN &#8211; Tuesday, July 1st &#8211; at dusk at Timber Ridge Events Centre<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">BOTHWELL &#8211; Tuesday, July 1st &#8211; at dusk at the Bothwell Arena<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">NEWBURY &#8211; Tuesday, July 1st &#8211; at dusk at Newbury Old Boy&#8217;s Park<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>All across Chatham-Kent, residents will be able to set off their own fireworks in celebration. Consumer fireworks can be set off three days before, on, and three days after July 1 until 11 p.m. and must be set off on private property, not municipal property.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-54688 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/bri-web-app-wordpress\/2018\/09\/63a1a3cf-cksy_5_things_4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"65\" height=\"90\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Ontario government has announced it will allow\u00a0alcohol to be served on large quadricycles, better known as pedal pubs, starting on July 1.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The change would apply to pedal pubs with an alcohol license in Toronto, Niagara-on-the-Lake,\u00a0Ottawa and Windsor.\u00a0Pedal pubs are only able to operate in municipalities with bylaws that allow\u00a0them<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The province launched a 10-year pilot program for pedal pubs back in 2022, but they were\u00a0not allowed to serve alcohol up until now.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In a media release, the province says the move is meant to support small businesses and encourage local tourism in the face of U.S. tariffs and economic uncertainty.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-54689 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/bri-web-app-wordpress\/2018\/09\/3a9171bb-cksy_5_things_5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"56\" height=\"89\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Cedar Point\u2019s newest roller coaster, Siren\u2019s Curse, opened over the weekend<\/p>\n<p>Siren\u2019s Curse is described as \u201cNorth America\u2019s tallest, longest and fastest tilt coaster.<\/p>\n<p>When the car reaches the top of its 160-foot hill, it tilts down, connecting to the rest of the 3,000-foot track.
