They will begin emerging from the ground for tarantula mating season from August until October in search of females. California, Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, and Texas will get hit the hardest.<\/p>\n

The softball-sized spiders will be wandering through campsites, backyards, and across roads. Wildlife officials say the tarantulas will be marching in loose lines. The experts say to give them space as they are not aggressive but can flick painful barbed hairs if threatened.<\/p>\n
