The next household hazardous waste day is Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

Residents can safely dispose of household hazardous material at no charge. A list of acceptable material can found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The shower is a result of the Earth-orbiting through a debris field from the Swift-Tuttle Comet, a 26-kilometre wide mass made up of ice and rock.<\/p>\n

The Perseid meteor shower has been underway since last month but it hits its peak tonight.<\/p>\n

Organizers are looking for about 65,000 volunteers, 6,000 of them in Canada. Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston, Dallas, Boston, Atlanta and more will host a total of 48 teams and 104 games across 16 venues.<\/p>\n

While you can choose which host city you want to volunteer in, FIFA does not help with travel or accommodation.<\/p>\n

Volunteers need to be 18 or older at the time of application, be able to commit to eight shifts between June 11 and July 19, 2026, speak English (with French and Spanish also \u201cdesirable\u201d in Canada and Mexico, respectively, with other languages a plus) and pass a background check, among other requirements.<\/p>\n
