\n\n\"\"Point Pelee National Park<\/a> will be closed to visitors from Jan. 16 to Jan. 21 for its annual deer cull.\n\nParks Canada<\/a>, in collaboration with Caldwell First Nation<\/a>, will carry out the second phase of the cull, following an initial operation in mid-November.\n\nThe temporary closure is required for public safety while the work is underway. Officials say the goal is to restore ecological balance in the park and support food sustainability for Caldwell First Nation.\n\nPoint Pelee is scheduled to reopen to the public on Jan. 22. Parks Canada and Caldwell First Nation have been working together to manage the deer population since 2015.\n\n
