Day 5 of the Winter Olympics<\/a> in Italy saw Canada win a medal in the short-track speedskating mixed team relay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Felix Roussel, Courtney Sarault, Kim Boutin and William Dandjinou finish 2nd in the mixed team relay bringing home Canada’s first Silver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Canadian Women’s Hockey team played rival U.S.A. and didn’t look good, getting shut out 5-0. They’ll play Finland on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of Day 4, Norway led with 12 total medals, six of them gold. Canada now has three medals in Italy, one Silver and two Bronze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Toronto Blue Jays<\/a> and Detroit Tigers<\/a> will begin Spring Training today in Dunedin and Lakeland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both teams will play their first exhibition games next weekend. The regular season begins March 26th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tigers brought back a familiar face yesterday, bringing back 43 year-old Justin Verlander to the team he started his career with. He spent his first 13 years in the league with Detroit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of the weather, Chatham-Kent snapped out of a 26 day run Tuesday of daytime highs being below freezing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Environment Canada<\/a> is calling for a mix of sun and cloud today and a high of 0\u00b0C. Sunshine and a high of -1\u00b0C for tomorrow, before climbing to highs of 3\u00b0C leading into the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meteorologist say that the worst is behind us, with the deep-freeze and endless gray days moving out of the forecast – but Winter isn’t over yet. Expect some snow late this month or early March. Probably too early to plan patio drinks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
