Today is the first day of a six day launch window for Artemis II, NASA\u2019s 10-day mission to the moon – The first crewed mission since the Apollo missions more than 50 years ago. Forecasters say the weather should cooperate.<\/p>\n\n\n

After a day in orbit around Earth, their Orion capsule will propel them to the moon and back. There are no stops \u2014 just a quick U-turn around the moon. The flight will end with a splashdown in the Pacific.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeremy Hansen and Jenni Gibbons are members of the Artemis II mission. Fifty year old Hansen is from London, and will serve as the mission specialist. Gibbons, 37, from Calgary will serve as Hansen\u2019s backup in the unlikely event he can\u2019t fly; she has gone through years of the same training and during the mission will serve as a voice link to space from Earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover and Christina Koch will also be aboard the Orion spacecraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
