The Barnstormers are off to London for an 11:05 a.m. first pitch against the Majors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is an exhibition game at Fergie Jenkins Field on Friday night at 7:05 against Kitchener and another on Wednesday, May 13th at 11:05 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regular season begins on Friday May 15th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fashion’s big night out, was last night. The annual Met Gala took place in New York City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s an annual event that raises money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute<\/a>. The theme of this year’s fundraiser was Costume Art – meant to explore the relationship between fashion, the body, and art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Met Gala is one of Manhattan’s favorite spectator sports, with celebrities walking the red carpet dressed in outfits that veer from elegant to outlandish and everything in between.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today is also Dutch Heritage Day in Canada. This is just the 7th year it’ll be celebrated after the federal government adopted a motion from then Chatham-Kent-Leamington MP Dave Van Kesteren in April 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is meant to honour the sacrifices made by Canadian veterans who gave their lives fighting for the Liberation of Holland, which took place on May 5, 1945.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Eta Aquarid meteor shower, caused by debris from Halley\u2019s Comet, peaks tonight into tomorrow morning\u2014but a bright (84% full) moon will make viewing tough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Southern Hemisphere, viewers could still see up to about 25 meteors per hour despite the moonlight, while those in the Northern Hemisphere may spot fewer than 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ask.com, the search engine previously known as Ask Jeeves, has officially shut down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This marks the end of a 25-year run in the search business. Originally named after the butler mascot Jeeves \u2014 the platform was rebranded in 2006.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company said it\u2019s discontinuing search operations as part of a broader shift in focus. “After 25 years of answering the world’s questions, Ask.com officially closed on May 1, 2026.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ask.com was known for letting users type full questions, a style that helped shape how people interact with AI chatbots today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
