Detroit is getting a PWHL team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Professional Women\u2019s Hockey League<\/a> announced yesterday that the Motor City will be awarded an expansion franchise for the 2026\u201327 season. The team will play its home games at Little Caesars Arena<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Detroit\u2019s team will feature a color scheme of black and silver, with white as a secondary color and red as an accent. In the first season, the jerseys are expected showcase a simple \u201cDETROIT\u201d wordmark running diagonally across the chest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Detroit also received a WNBA expansion team recently; the team, yet to be named, is slated to start play in 2029.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alert Ready<\/a> will be conducting a test across the province today to ensure the system\u2019s readiness in the case of an actual emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n

These routine tests of the Alert Ready system typically happen twice per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The emergency alert system is in place to warn Canadians of a long list of threatening events, from the recent familiarity of the COVID-19 pandemic to earthquakes, floods, forest fires, nuclear incidents, tornadoes, and potentially dangerous weather conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The test is scheduled for 1:55 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Memorabilia from the estate of Matthew Perry is going up for auction June 5, with proceeds benefiting the Matthew Perry Foundation<\/a>, which supports addiction recovery and fights stigma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Items include scripts and signed materials from Friends, Perry\u2019s 1995 SAG Award, his replica peephole frame, and personal collectibles like a photo album, along with artwork by Banksy and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
