Chatham-Kent’s Organic Waste Diversion Program is moving forward to reduce the amount of food and organic waste sent to landfill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C-K residents can now purchase a subsidized backyard composter for $20 (HST included). Composters can be purchased at the Chatham Civic Centre, Blenheim, Dresden, Ridgetown, Tilbury, or Wallaceburg Municipal Office. You can also purchase by phone\u00a0by calling 311.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Backyard composting lets you turn food scraps and yard materials into nutrient-rich soil, reducing garbage and creating a useful product for gardening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chatham’s Bridget Carleton will play her first regular season WNBA<\/a> game in Canada on Saturday in Toronto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carleton’s Portland Fire<\/a> will take on the Toronto Tempo<\/a> at the Coca-Cola Coliseum at 6 p.m. The Fire and Tempo are meeting for the first time. Both are in their debut season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is their return to the wearable eyewear market after the earlier failure of Google Glass. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These glasses, developed with Samsung, will let users take calls, listen to music, capture photos, and use the Gemini AI assistant.<\/p>\n\n\n

This August, Kingston will honour The Tragically Hip<\/a> 10 years after their final concert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A three-day Forever Hip<\/a> celebration marking the 10 years since the band\u2019s emotional final concert after frontman Gord Downie was diagnosed with incurable brain cancer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 20 to 22 will include tribute concerts, art installations, a screening of the documentary Long Time Running<\/a>, and a public rebroadcast of the band\u2019s final 2016 performance, which was watched live by more than 11 million Canadians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final Late Show with Stephen Colbert<\/a> airs tonight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Colbert \u2014 a vocal critic of President Donald Trump \u2014 announced in January that the final episode would air on May 21st after CBS decided last year to cancel the highly rated late-night program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CBS says the cancellation is for financial reasons, though supporters argue politics was the major reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
