Everyone is welcome to come out to the launch of the 2026\u20132027 CK Theatres Season tonight at the Capitol Theatre<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with local arts groups showcase their upcoming seasons throughout the lobby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 7:00 p.m., the curtain rises on the official CK Theatres season reveal, featuring a live on-stage performance by the Chatham-Kent Secondary School Jazz Band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2026-27 season will feature the return of the Capitol Theatre Season and the re-launch of the Kiwanis Theatre Season. There is no cost to attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today is a Household Hazardous Waste Day<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hosted by the Municipality of Chatham-Kent<\/a> and Waste Connections of Canada Ridge Landfill<\/a> at Veolia Environmental, at 141 Prosperity Way<\/a> from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residents can dispose of household hazardous material at no charge. A list of acceptable material can found here<\/a>. The next Household Hazardous Waste Day is Tuesday, July 7th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Gordie Howe International Bridge<\/a> is expected to take place Friday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will be a major milestone for the new crossing between Windsor and Detroit. Officials say the bridge is nearing its spring opening, though an exact date for traffic has still not been announced. The project has faced years of delays and political controversy, including recent concerns raised by U.S. President Donald Trump over compensation for the crossing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bridge named after hockey legend Gordie Howe, is expected to become a key trade and transportation link between Canada and the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LEGO<\/a> has unveiled its biggest set ever \u2014 a massive 12,060-piece replica of Barcelona\u2019s famous Sagrada Fam\u00edlia basilica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The model, inspired by architect Antoni Gaud\u00ed\u2019s unfinished masterpiece, stands about two feet tall and features intricate towers, fa\u00e7ades, and stained-glass-style details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The set will sell for about $1,100 (CAD) and is aimed at adult builders and collectors. Fans online are joking the LEGO version may actually be completed before the real church, which has been under construction for more than 140 years.<\/p>\n\n\n
