The San Diego Comic-Con<\/a> kicks off in San Diego, California today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SDCC is the biggest \u201ccomics\u201d convention in North America. Comics is in quotes because it’s much more than that, when it started way back in 1970, the convention was devoted to comics, movies, and fantasy literature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Canadian Blood Services<\/a> is asking Canadians to roll up their sleeves after blood donations dropped nearly 20% since June 1st. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decline is much steeper than the usual summer slowdown, with fewer donation appointments booked than expected across the country. All blood types are needed to help maintain a safe supply for hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
