Loretta Lynn Misses Cmt Honour
October 18, 2018 11:06 amIllness forced Loretta Lynn to cancel her scheduled appearance at the CMT Artists of the Year special where she was being honoured as the Artist of a Lifetime. Last night, Loretta tweeted,

Actress Sissy Spacek was there to present the honor and accepted the Artist of a Lifetime award on Loretta’s behalf. Sissy played Loretta in the 1980 film Coal Miner’s Daughter, ultimately winning an Oscar for her portrayal. Sissy said, “She’s been my cheerleader, my sister and my best friend. It’s my honor to accept her award.”
Sheryl Crow, Dierks Bentley and Martina McBride also payed a musical tribute to Loretta featuring a medley of her songs.
CMT’s 2018 Artists of the Year this year were all women. Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman and Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott were all honored during the live broadcast which aired last night on CMT.
